Since the 1970s, Gallery Jakob Kazinik (later Jokubas Kazinikas) has made a name for itself in professional circles and collectors with its extensive range of prints. Now the gallery is experiencing a virtual rebirth and allows a small but deliberately incomplete look at the visionary understanding of art of its founder. Brücke artists were also well known in the 70s, but Russian avant-garde and Dadaism had an impact on collectors and outside of the art metropolises west of the Iron Curtain, not least in terms of price. It’s amazing that the Kazinik Collection can still be seen and maintained its place even after Mr. Kazinik’s death in the 90s. A digital processing now helps to get an overview of what was kept in the quiet for a quarter of a century. The art represented by Jakob Kazinik is to be shown again to the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. A piece of Mannheim art history was hidden and thus paying respect to its responsibility that comes from contacts to eg. foundations and other institutions and people in the region and beyond. A platform is to be created that promotes interactive exchange in a moderated manner.
